Indigo Dyeing
Experience the magic of indigo dyeing. From the murky depths of the dye vat, beautiful cloths of pure blue emerge.
During the one day workshop you will:-
Learn how to make and use an indigo vat
Learn how to create a range of patterns using shibori techniques
Produce a selection of samples that you can use for future projects
The work is suitable for all levels from complete beginner upwards. Specialist materials will be provided for a £12 fee, payable to the tutor on the day.
You will learn a great deal during the day and go home equipped to carry on dyeing!

Natural dyeing on fabric
Natural dyes have the possibility to be vibrant, exciting and colour fast. The secret is the mordant.
During the one day workshop you will:-
Learn about different mordants, what they do and how they work
Learn how to apply them
Learn how to make and use dye vats with a range of indigenous plants
Produce a selection of sample pieces that you can use for future projects

All course bookings require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the cost of the course. The rest of the cost to be paid two weeks before the workshop. Some workshops are booked direct with the tutors and these are indicated.
