Watercolour / Acrylic 'drop-in' Workshops with David Douglas
New for 2011 David is tutoring a regular, weekly 2 hour painting and drawing course on Thursday afternoons. The course will introduce students to watercolour, acrylics and various other mediums. The stunning views from the studio will allow you to attempt landscapes and skies. The well lite studio is also ideal for still life. There will be the opportunity to try experimental work as well as more traditional approaches. All abilities very welcome. Why not come and try a taster session first. Come to just one or more' drop in' sessions, pay on arrival.
David will also be holding a one day watercolour / acrylic workshop very soon where the student can throw away all inhibitions and get to grips with this fascinating medium. All abilities very welcome.
David Douglas is a practicing artist and tutor. He was a regional winner of Channel 4's water colour challenge. Inspite of his fame and expertise he welcomes the total beginner to the experienced student to his workshops. The emphasis will be on the expressive and exciting possibilities of the medium. Various techniques and skills will be covered and how this can be applied to a developing picture. There will be a theme for the picture, however, if you wish to pursue your own you are welcome to do so. Bring your normal water colour art materials. A material list can be sent on booking a place.
David exhibits regularly with the Royal water colour society and wins many prizes, The Baker Tilly prize and the St. Cuthbert Mill Award. Summer 2010 saw David's third one man show in Bloomsbury, London.
David's work was exhibited at Cool Contours in May along with our other tutors work during Oxfordshire art weeks and hopefully he will exhibit again in 2012, May 5th - 13th

Course Duration: 2 hours weekly on a Thursdays 1.30pm - 3.30pm. You can come to these' drop in' sessions once or as many times as you like!
Cost: £7 for a two hour session. There is a discount if a block booking of the Thursday workshops are booked in advance. A quick email / telephone call would be appreciated if you would like to join in.

All course bookings require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the cost of the course. The rest of the cost to be paid two weeks before the workshop. Some workshops are booked direct with the tutors and these are indicated.
